Cherry Tree Nursery is a tremendous resource for resilience in the Bournemouth area. It provides care for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, helping them to care for themselves, each other and for amazing plants for our gardens.
This year’s plant sales will be on Saturdays 31st March, 7th July and 30th September.
Most plants in 2 litre pots at reduced prices. Free tea and coffee, wide range of stalls, live music, Latin American crafts, Mexican jewellery, raffle, plant tombola, home-made cakes, books, DVDs, CDs & the ukulele band Susbus!
I’ll be there with my travelling bookstall including a range of health/politics/ecology books to help nurture a local transition culture. Stop by and say hello if you come by. I’ll hopefully be next to Catherine from Herbal Harmony (www.thedorsetherbalist.co.uk), so you can pick up a lovely herb tea to sip later while you read or after you’ve put in your new plants.
And if you can’t make the plant sale, but still want to support Cherry Tree financially, they are very happy to accept donations toward their new eco-building project (www.cherrytreenursery.org.uk)
Chestnut Nursery, a sister project of Cherry Tree, will also be having plant sales this year, but I see their website hasn’t been updated for this year so you might need to drop by to find out when they are (www.chestnutnursery.org.uk)
