Our working party on Saturday was great, although all plans went out of the window when we saw the yellow sea of ragwort ! In small doses it is lovely, but in such quantities it would soon dominate the whole field if we let it set seed. So, we started from the northern boundary, pulling out as much as we could. Between the 10 of us, we managed about a third of it (one truckload!). However, that leaves plenty still to go ! So we have arranged an extra working party to urgently pull / cut as much of the rest as we can (of course checking that there are no caterpillars on it first ! ). This will be on Friday 27th July, from 10:00 – 12:00. If you have any time to spare, please come along, as we need to get rid of as much of it as we can before it sets seed.
