Heather Dixon, manager of the Bournemouth Naturally Project, is organising a wildlife survey of the Slades Farm Community Garden area. Everyone is welcome to come along and take part.
On Wednesday 19th Sept at 10am we are getting a group together for a visit to Slades Farm Community Garden. We are going to be doing a survey session to help create a species list for the area which will be useful for the on-going monitoring of the garden and to record the wildlife that is living there at present.
Please come along and help us. Everyone is welcome, experience of identifying species or not. I will be bringing along a range of ID guides so everyone can have a go. The plan is to do a thorough search of the area for insects, plants and any other wildlife we observe on the day.
If anyone has a swipe net or anything else that may help with surveying then please bring it along.
Please be aware the ground can be uneven in places and we will be searching through long grass so wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
We will be meeting at 10am in the Slades Farm car park off Ensbury Avenue (BH10 4HG), my number is 07590909933 if you have trouble finding the meeting point. We will probably be there for a couple of hours (till 12ish) but feel free to come along for part or the whole session.
Let me know if you would like further information.
