Transition Bournemouth 2013 in review and first gathering of 2014

Hello everyone,

Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved with Transition Bournemouth in 2013. We had another successful year and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our members.

Our flagship project Slades Farm Community Garden has continued to flourish with the creation of a new wildlife pond in progress and several enjoyable events held during the spring/summer.

Other achievements include: the continuation of our schools project – running workshops which teach young people about sustainability, contributing towards Bournemouth’s bids to become a Fairtrade Town and Sustainable Food City Area. We have also attended a variety of local community events to raise awareness of our group and green issues. Lets hope 2014 can be just as productive!

First Transition Bournemouth gathering of 2014

Although our usual meeting venue (the education hut in Boscombe chine gardens) is lovely in the warmer weather it was decided at the November gathering that in the colder months it would be better to meet in a more public and central location.

Therefore…The first gathering of Transition Bournemouth in 2014 will be held at Kino Lounge in Bournemouth town centre (39 Bourne Close, Bournemouth BH2 6DP) on Wednesday 15th January from 7:30pm. We have the room downstairs to ourselves. Please ask at the bar if you have any trouble finding us.

As always this is a friendly and informal gathering to share ideas and plan for the coming months. All are welcome!!

Finally I would like to wish you all a happy new year and hope to see you all very soon.

All the best,

Kim Boughey
